After two years of isolation, in 2022 the Aesthetic and Cosmetic Exhibition (ACE) returned to London.
It is a great opportunity to connect with colleagues, visit the stands of well-known and upcoming companies and technologies.
In this video below I summarize my 4 biggest takeaways from this year’s ACE, among them a well-established skin booster brand – PROFHILO.
Telling it honestly, I introduce PROFHILO in my clinic due to popular demand.
WHAT IS PROFHILO?
Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid filler with the purpose of remodelling and strengthening the skin, improving skin laxity.
WHAT PROFHILO IS NOT?
I think it tells more about PROFHILO if you understand what it is not.
It is not a soft tissue filler that I use in my clinic (Juvederm Fillers) to revolumise the face, build projection and strengthen features. It is not a mesotherapy and not a skin booster. The company defines its product as an ‘injectable moisturiser’.
WHERE IS PROFHILOS’S PLACE IN THE TREATMENT PLAN?
This is partly the reason I resisted introducing Profhilo to my clinic so far: it is the finishing touch to complete a bigger rejuvenation plan by improving the skin’s tonicity, and firmness, but this product is not capable to fix the deeper volume loss issues that come with ageing. It is a superficial treatment at the level of the skin.
So, its place in the treatment plan is at the final step.
I know upfront, that I need to tell to patients coming for Profhilo that this is not, what they are really looking for most of the time. First, we need to sort out the deeper problems, then can Profhilo come as a final, but important touch. For younger patients, with minimal deep volume loss, it can be a beautiful stand-alone treatment, however.
